Brinsley Animal Rescue Work Day Brinsley Animal Rescue is a not for profit organisation dedicated to caring for animals. Our primary mission is to relieve the suffering of animals and birds. Many of the animals that come to us are simply ’surplus to requirements’ from the meat, dairy and egg industry. Because such animals are deemed unprofitable then it is our aim to take them on and find them loving homes in which they can enjoy the retirement they deserve.
Nottm AR has regular work days here - fence building, staining, aviary building, mucking out, rabbit run building and more. Transport approx 6.30pm from City Centre - call Danny to confirm: 07593 375270. (Also possibly on Tuesdays from Beeston - call Lee 07599 282851) |

Nottingham Greyhound Stadium Demo Regular demos fortnightly on Fridays from 6.30pm at the track, til approx 8pm.Sadly, deaths and serious injuries to dogs running on the tracks are relatively common, and the existence of a major track like Nottingham is responsible for the putting to death of about 500 greyhounds every year. According to the Guardian, March 17th: "Greyhound tracks are closing and the industry isn't doing enough to care for the thousands of dogs who face an uncertain fate" Nottingham Animal Rights have to educate people about the suffering of racing dogs, leafleting at Nottingham Greyhound Stadium, usually on alternate Friday evenings, from 6pm. If you live in or near the East Midlands area and would like to help, please email to confirm or call c/o 07870 861837. |

Camp for Climate Action The 2010 Camp For Climate Action is to be held in Edinburgh, focusing on the Royal Bank of Scotland. After receiving a wopping £45 billion bailout from the UK taxpayer, RBS is serving us another dose of injustice, funding climate crimes through their investment in oil, gas, coal and, more recently, Canadian tar sands.Nottingham residents may participate in the camp as part of the Eastside "neighbourhood" which also included the good citizens of other Eastern parts of the country including Derby, Cambridge and Norfolk. See report on Eastside at the 2008 Climate Camp at http://www.veggies.org.uk/event.php?ref=1257 |
