13th July 2013
Join us for the launch of the festival at The Greenway Centre, on Saturday 6th July 11.30am-3pm. There will be a range of activities suitable for all ages, including planting hanging baskets and decorating Sneinton’s carnival parade float! |
Other exciting festival events include the Colwick Woods Gala day, on Sunday 7th July, 12-4pm – a day of Vikings, archery, dog shows, live music and dancing.
Not to be missed is the International Food Evening, at the Old School Hall on Friday 12th July, 6-8pm. Bring a starter, salad, main or a desert – the more you bring the more there is to share! 10 cooks and local groups from across Sneinton’s diverse community will be cooking up a range of dishes from around the world.
This years main day is Saturday 13th July – hosting two live music stages, a variety of stalls, face painting, games, an exciting arts and craft tent plus an enchanted forest.
The festival parade kicks off from 12pm, starting at The Windmill, making its way over to Tricketts Park. There are a few different costume themes this year including: childhood superheroes, masquerade, animals, Hollywood stars and diversity. Dress up and get involved!
What better way to continue the party than heading down to the Lord Nelson Pub after the festival, 8pm-late!
To finish off the celebrations, there is a post festival wind-down at The Windmill, on Sunday 14th July 12-4pm. Bring a picnic, enjoy the stalls, listen to some chilled music and join in with some fun workshops inside the windmill.
We can’t wait to see you all there – lets make this year the best yet! For more information, or if you would like to volunteer at the festival, please contact mainday coordinator Jacqui on 07773757607, or drop us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
