Feeding the hungry without exploiting animals since 1984!

HAPPY 30th BIRTHDAY TO US!

To mark our 30th Anniversary we catered on the streets at the Anarchist Bookfair in London. We also cater at Emma & Remi's Vegan Wedding in Nottingham and People's Kitchen at the Sumac Centre, followed by a running buffet, music & drinks until late.

Thanks to all our crew, friends and supporters that Joined us at the Sumac Centre to celebrate 30 year at the front-line of vegan outreach, supporting campaigns for humans, other animals and the environment.

Many thanks to Veggies' lovely long-time volunteer Nik for making this incredible cake!

These anniversary events brought to a total of 70 events we have catered this year, marking the 70th Anniversary of the Vegan Society.

In this our 30th Anniversary Year, we remember other memorable dates that preceded us, and those that followed.

Whenever possible Veggies feature the publications of the Movement for Compassionate Living, which we print and distribute to promote simple living and vegan self-reliance as a remedy to the exploitation of humans, animals and the Earth.

We also support our nominated charity, Vegfam, Feeding the hungry without exploiting animals. If you can help us with either of these projects at this event, whilst we are busy with Veggies catering, please email pat@veggies.org.uk.

sumac centreThe Sumac Centre is an independent community and social centre in Nottingham, part of the UK Social Centre Network and Radical Routes.

Sumac provides resources, meeting spaces and skills for groups and individuals campaigning for human rights, animal rights, the environment, peace and co-operation world-wide. [wikipedia]

On Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings, the Centre becomes the Forest Fields Social Club (FFCS a.k.a Sumac Bar) from 7.30. The FFSC is a members club, but membership is easy and guests are welcome. For gigs and fundraising benefits, guests can pay at the door and members are invited to make a donation.
