On Friday, 19th September, there was a protest action in solidarity with the people of Rossport, and all other effected by the rapacious actions of S.hell.
"It would be a shame to waste an opportunity with so many people around us, so we plan to do something highlighting the need for radical change, and to acknowledge that it was such campaigning which brought us together".
Around a hundred people showed up in Ludlow to celebrate this very special 'wedding' and take a little direct action at the same time. The 'bride' and 'groom' along with the assembled friends and family wore black, green and purple to symbolise our resistance. The forecourt was blocked off with banners and the pumps were switched off and locked up. Hymns were sungs (Dancing on the Ruins of Multinational Corporations and the Diggers Song). Veggies served cake and tea. A hand full of cops turned up to enjoy the ceremony and take some photos.
To get to this event Veggies will emit 130kg CO2 (122 miles from Nottm), but as Cath and Donal are Vegan For Life, they will save 1.5 tonnes CO2 every year, as well as saving 4022 animals lives, and enabling all the world’s peoples to receive a Fair Share of the world’s resources.
If you'd like us to bring you any of our foods, literature or campaign goods, some of which are on our online shop please contact us with details
Whenever possible Veggies feature the publications of the Movement for Compassionate Living, which we print and distribute to promote simple living and vegan self-reliance as a remedy to the exploitation of humans, animals and the Earth.
We also support our nominated charity, Vegfam, ‘Feeding the hungry without exploiting animals’. If you can help us with either of these projects at this event, whilst we are busy with Veggies catering, please email email@example.com.
