/veganfestival/2009/emvf09_468x188.jpgThe 6th East Midlands Vegan Festival (EMVF) welcomed almost 2000 visitors to the Council House on Nottingham's Old Market Square on Saturday 12th December between 11am & 5pm.

The Festival featured food & drink, toiletries, cosmetics, gift and campaign stalls, as well as vegan food samples and advice.

Doors opened at 11am and there was briefly a short queue, the venue maintaining a comfortable 200 capacity throughout. Thanks to all who helped setting up from 8am (and in advance).


  • The East Midlands Vegan Festival took place exactly midway through the Copenhagen Climate Conference; reducing animal products is The Simplest And Most Effective Step an individual can take to reduce their carbon footprint. See http://51percent.org/

Access Information

East Midlands Vegan Festival 12th Dec 2009, Nottingham Council House, Market Square, Nottingham NG1 2DT. Map at http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=NG12DT . Drag this map up a bit to see Collin Street, by Broad Marsh for stallholder vehicle access via Middle Hill. Note that Googlemap may show restricted access via the very narrow Greyhound Street off King Street.

Setting up time is 9am until 10am. Helpers and unloaders will be available and waiting at The Council House. Vehicles can not access the venue after 10am or before 4.30pm.

Important - access via King Street involves a narrow passageway and is not suitable for vans.
Access to Council House is now via Cheapside, accessed from the south, via Collin Street (by Broad Marsh), Middle Hill and then Fletchergate. Unloading can take place at side of Council house.

The tram park and ride Forest site. Tram stops at Council House on return journey. http://www.triptimes.co.uk/parkride/theforest.jsp.
