Martin Lacey's Lincolnshire-based circus, one of just three in Britain to still use wild animals, claims to have "the largest collection of wild animals touring Britain". Animals used in the circus include tigers, lions zebras, camels, llamas, horses, ponies, goats and reindeer.

Their 2010 season opens at yet another new location, Sydney Hall Memorial Playing Fields, off Brant Road, Lincoln, LN5 9QS

Saturday 6th: Demo with Lincoln Animal Friends: lincoln-animal-rights@hotmail.co.uk
Sunday 7th at 2pm for 3pm show. (Leave Nottm at 12.30).
Sunday 14th probable demo at 2pm for final 3pm show, as part of the Animal Rights Spring Gathering weekend.

Opposition grows for animal circus

'More regulations needed to control this total circus'

This is one of only around 8 UK-based circuses using animals. However, that's 8 too many! We can't rely upon weak legislation to ban the use of animals in circuses. The Animal Welfare Bill (in its present form) is not proposing to ban this evil industry and will do little to protect any animal used. It's up to people like you to make a difference, by convincing others not to visit these mobile prisons and make them completely unprofitable and untenable.

At the beginning of their 2008 season, Martin Lacey owner and ringmaster of the Great British Circus, violently and verbally attacked a BBC news reporter.

In 2009 the circus had 3 elephants, including Delhi, over 40 years old, with arthritis in one stiff leg for 20 years, and having been hoisted with a crane on at least two occasions after falls. Where are they now?

To offer or request a lift to the demo, call 0845 458 9595 (on the day 0787 086 1837). (Demo times set 30mins before performance, to allow for travel delays, but we aim to be there 60mins before).
