http://i448.photobucket.com/albums/qq209/Wildflowerafternoons/Easter/EasterRabbit.jpgHighgate Farm breeds rabbits and other small animals for the vivisection industry. They were exposed in 2008 when 129 rabbits were rescued from living in bare cages full of excrement and urine.

Following this, Highgate stopped supplying animals for a while, only to be convinced by the police to carry on. One of their customers is the notoriously cruel Huntingdon Life Science, who have been exposed many times of animal cruelty and law breaking.

Activists from the North, Midlands and elsewhere will be converging on Highgate Farm for a demonstration against this animal lab breeder, meeting at 12 noon at Highgate Farm, Highgate Lane, Normanby-by-Spital, Market Rasen, Lincolnshire, LN8 2HQ.

highgate farm mapIn July activists occupied land near the entrance of Highgate Rabbit Farm in protest against their breeding of rabbits and ferrets for the vivisection industry. They supply several university and commercial laboratories, including Huntingdon Life Sciences (HLS). The campers held a peaceful occupation of the land, calling on the closure of the farm, and for the farmer Geoffrey Douglas to hand the animals over to a suitable organisation for rehoming.

There are other ways you can support the action:

• You can telephone the farm to politely request that they resist government or corporate pressure to continue supplying animals to vivisection, on: 01673 878259 and 01673 878 232.

• You can attend the protest - whether it is for an hour, or on your initiative on another a day, your presence would be greatly appreciated.

* You can write to Highgate Farm, Highgate Lane, Normanby By Spital, Market Rasen, Lincolnshire, LN8 2HQ.

Please keep all communications to the farm informative and polite. The purpose of your correspondence is to urge them to stop breeding animals for vivisection, and to allow the animals to be re-homed.
