Info from 2009 gathering The gathering will include: * Workshops, discussions and talks on various animal rights topics. * Three vegan meals per day, plus site cafe with drinks and snacks provided by Veggies Catering Campaign. * Info stalls and merchandise from all the main grass roots campaign groups. * A beautiful rural location, on land owned by a farm animal sanctuary. * Various entertainment, a chance to socialise and network with other campaigners from across the UK. Car share If you're driving to the gathering and can offer spaces to fellow activists either from your area or en route, please get in touch so we can get more people involved. Timetable The Timetable is already filling up with great workshops, discussions, talks and entertainment, but if you've got anything interesting to contribute it may not be too late if you contact us soon with your ideas. This applies also to practical and skills based workshops. Volunteers If you're free earlier in the week to help set up the site, put up marquees etc, or you can stay a few days afterwards to help tidy up the site, you'll be very welcome, we'll provide camping space and food, and a bit of entertainment no doubt! Catering If you are interested in being part of the catering crew over the weekend, it would nice to hear from you. As well as being a vital part of the gathering, this can be a great way to gain practical experience of vegan catering and campaigning, as well as getting to know and working with some nice, interesting, like-minded people. Driving If you are arriving in a vehicle and can do an hour or two's driving over the weekend, either picking up supplies, or taking activists to and from the station, please let us know, we will have a rota and the driving will be shared. Equipment If you can bring along any useful equipment for us to loan, this may save us some money. Stuff like tools, chairs, tables, catering equipment, electrical items, audiovisual, tools, and lots of other things we'll probably only think about much nearer the time! First Aid If you're a First Aider, don't forget your kit! There will be First Aid workshop on the timetable as well. Camping Bring clothing and camping equipment suitable for all weathers if possible. If you don't have a tent you can use one of the big marquees. Don't forget to bring a torch as well! How to get there by Public Transport If you are using public transport you should aim for Northampton train station, or Northampton Grey Friars bus station. From here we will either pick you up or give you further directions by bus. We may also be able to pick you up from Rugby, Market Harborough or Daventry stations if this is more convenient, but be sure to contact us in advance to make arrangements. Driving If you are driving, contact us for details how to get there. For updates visit the website www.argathering.org.uk or contact us.
