The following message appeared on Facebook FROM KAM NANCY'S GRANDSON........ RIP my beloved grandmother Nancy Phipps passed away today. She was an amazing, strong minded woman who spent her life campaigning for animal rights and was a strong supporter of the Animal Liberation Front (ALF) and served time in prison herself for her involvement in non violent direct action against vivisection in the 80s. In 1995 Nancy lost her daughter Jill Phipps who was tragically killed during a protest against the live export of veal calves to the continent. Nancy was the rock of our family for many years and will be very missed by us all and her actions over the years have inspired many people and saved many lives. She will always be remembered as the mother of the animal rights movement. Rest in peace Nancy xxxx'> R.I.P Nancy Phipps : Veggies / Sumac Diary

http://www.jillphipps.org.uk/photos/jill-nancyW.jpgSad news that Nancy died on Friday 30th May 2014. A very caring and lovely person who was a great activist too. She will be greatly missed.

Nancy's funeral will be held on Thursday 12th June at 3pm at Canley Garden cemetery and crematorium, Cannon Hill Road, Coventry CV4 7DF. It is a family gathering, rather than an animal rights memorial event (which will take place at a later date), but friends and well-wishers are welcome.

Donations may be made in Nancy's memory, to support the Gerson Cure, to help Keith Mann & others.

nancy phippsNancy laying wreath at Freedom March & Rally - Oxford - 23rd July 2005

The demonstration was part of the continuing campaign against Oxford University's avowed intention to finish building the partially-built animal torture centre on South Parks Rd.

A two minutes silence was observed and all those present were asked to think about what we all had to do to make sure that this centre of animal suffering never becomes a reality. Nancy Phipps laid a wreath at the wooden fence surrounding the site as a dedication to all the animals killed at Oxford and to mark our determination to make certain that we will never allow Oxford University to finish its plans for another monument to animal suffering and scientific fraud. ...more...

Mother Likes Making Dolls

A novel by Nancy Anne Phipps.

Nancy's daughter, Jill adored reading and her favourite author was Stephen King. One day Jill challenged Nancy to write a horror story for her! Nancy took the challenge and the result was Mother Likes Making Dolls, a spine-chilling horror. Although written many years earlier, it was published in 2004.

This book was originally sold to raise funds for animal campaigning and sanctuaries via the Jill Phipps Fund. The entire proceeds of the sales of our remaining copies will add to the donations made in Nancy's memory, to support the Gerson Cure, to help Keith Mann & others.

Contct us if you would like a copy of the book.
