Canada intends to kill over 325,000 seals this spring with an additional 10,000 harp seal quota for an aboriginal allowance!"

In 2008 Sea Shepherd Conservation Society sent its ship, the Farley Mowat north into the ice packs off Eastern Canada to defend baby harp seals from the ruthless clubs of Canadian sealers. However the ship was taken by armed government thugs in international waters on April 12th, 2008, and was unlawfully held by Canadian Department of Fisheries and Oceans.

In previous years organizations around the world have demonstrated at government offices, embassies, and tourist offices. Arrange a demo in your city, write letters to government officials, or hand out leaflets on a busy street.

We all remember the scenes of carnage, suffering and death from last year and all the years before, and even though the Canadian Government is attempting to play down the cruelty involved, video footage and pictures show the harsh reality of this commercial seal hunt. The facts remain the same: these are babies, all under 3 months old, that are being mercilessly slaughtered in the very nursery where their mothers gave birth to them.
