SPEAK Demo to mark World Day for Animals In Laboratories. The animals inside the laboratories of Oxford have no voice of their own, they need us to SPEAK out for them. Their lives belong to them, and no-one else. Please join us to fight for their rights and freedom, we are all they have.

Meet from 12 noon at Oxpens Park, Oxpens Road, Oxford

Behind the ‘dreaming spires of Oxford’, its university is responsible for the torture and death of countless numbers of animals in cruel and worthless experiments; animals like Felix the monkey, who had the top of his skull sliced off, electrodes implanted into his brain, was chemically brain damaged and then, when he had outlived his usefulness, was killed in July last year.

To get to this event, 112 miles from our home base at Nottingham's Sumac Centre, Veggies will emit about 280kg CO2

However by helping 500 people Eat Vegan we will collectively “offset” 200 kg CO2.

If ONE extra person goes Vegan For Life, they will save 1.5 tonnes CO2 every year, as well as saving 4022 animals lives, and enabling all the world’s peoples to receive a Fair Share of the world’s resources. [Estimate statistics]

Whenever possible Veggies feature the publications of the Movement for Compassionate Living, which we print and distribute to promote simple living and vegan self-reliance as a remedy to the exploitation of humans, animals and the Earth. We also support our nominated charity, Vegfam, ‘Feeding the hungry without exploiting animals’.
