The Green Festival aims to provide a family event aimed at our whole community. Immersing them in a wholly natural atmosphere of live music and dance, re-cycled arts and nature themed workshops, Organic & natural food and local allotment and plant stalls. Also natural cosmetics and fair trade and wildlife stalls, alternative energy and natural health. A multitude of stalls with expertise and information sharing, to raise awareness and encourage ethical living and friendliness and a greater understanding towards our threatened environment.

Live music and entertainment at the Bandstand has been organised by Sweetpotato Promotions 'Summer of Dub' celebrating 40th anniversary of the 1967 'Summer of Love'.

Headlining are the 'cool as a summer breeze' internationally acclaimed and continually on tour Lovegrocer. Fronted by the 'Crispy Horns' brass section who have supported and appeared on the recordings of many of the worlds greatest reggae artists. Jazzed up downbeat, dance reggae rhythms like the sound of 'summer and nature in harmony' - showcasing their fantastic third album 'Across the Valley'.

Dubheart from Bournemouth win the hearts of all that hear them play! Busy at festivals and events throughout this Summer and supporting The Wailers and Trojan Records on tour in the UK in July.

With a massive following reared after furlongs of thoroughbred meetings at local venues The 10 O'clock Horses will sonically stampede into your eardrums. Riotous fusion of folk, ska and 'punky' reggae music presented in a way that even 'your mother should of warned you about'!

Kambasemba formed from seven Nottingham based master musicians. They bring their Angolan and Spanish traditional influence charged with plenty of big band funky Latin soul. Kambasemba's musical vibration makes you just move and dance!

Special Guest from Brittany France is roots reggae producer Lord Hissayas who will play us a selection of his conscience awakening cutting edge tracks influenced by life and times in modern France.

Nottingham's own 2007 Human Beat-box Champion Lyrikool Lips will astound and amaze as he reproduces every drum sound and rhythm imaginable all using his lips and a microphone!!!

Conscious poetry points of view 'rapped in controversy' recited by Nottingham's own Howard Wright.

Students of Vina Ladwas school of Asian Dance will perform beautiful 'Kathak dance' to traditional music.

Nottingham's premier Capoeira group 'Cordao de Ouro' (Belt of Gold) will be performing and recruiting for their amazing Brazilian martial art to music within the park and welcome crowd participation, so why not have a go?

Whenever possible Veggies feature the publications of the Movement for Compassionate Living, which we print and distribute to promote simple living and vegan self-reliance as a remedy to the exploitation of humans, animals and the Earth. We also support our nominated charity, Vegfam, ‘Feeding the hungry without exploiting animals’. If you can help us with either of these projects at this event, whilst we are busy with Veggies catering, please email pat@veggies.org.uk.
