Nottingham Green Picnic
18th May 2014
When Nottingham Green Festival was postponed from Sunday 18th May and independent Green Picnic was held instead.
Those that would otherwise be looking forward to the Green Festival gathered instead for a completely different and unconnected get-together - a Green Picnic.
This was an informal gathering in the public space at the Arboretum, just a few tram stops north of the City Centre.
Whilst this picnic is nothing to do with Nottingham Green Festival it is hoped that it may generate support for that event. To follow their progress, to make a donation or to join their mailing list, read on...

Bring information about any projects that you are involved in, using a wide and diverse definition of 'green', ie anything promoting the well being of humans, other animals & the planet.
Bring acoustic instruments and voices to entertain each other.
Bring (vegan) food to share, and anything else that can be freely exchanged.
Bring art or crafts to demonstrate or display.
Bring donations to offer, if you wish to do so.
Bring yourselves, your friends, your colleagues and everyone in your extended social networks.
Leave the park cleaner than you find it. Avoid disturbance to other park users.
No Trading please - this is simply a gathering of individuals in the public park.
We hope that any traders with existing permits to cater in the park will benefit from those attending.
Nottingham Green Festival
If are able to run a fund-raiser, book a stall for your group, or encourage others to do so, that might make all the difference in ensuring the success of Nottingham's own green festival, the place for the whole family to learn, explore and try the latest in everything environmentally friendly and ethical, whilst also having lots of fun in the beautiful setting of the Arboretum Park, Waverley Street / Addison Street, a couple of minutes from Nottingham's Old Market Square.
This event has over 100 product, information and food stalls, kids rides, workshops, alternative therapies and technologies, live performers, entertainments throughout the park, live music bands performing from the bandstand and Veggies Catering nearby.
Meanwhile see our 2013 Diary Listing.
Nottingham Vegan Festival at Nottingham Green FestivalVeggies has catered at the annual Nottingham Green Festival every year ever - this'll be our 28th time - so we highly recommend it as a great opportunity for vegan outreach, trading, campaigning or fundraising.
It would be great to see a 'vegan village' at the event, amongst the 100+ stalls & thousands of visitors.
Veggies' Vegan Festival team are grateful to the Nottingham Green Festival for providing space to hold an East Midlands' Vegan Festival within the Green Festival.
We invite you to book your stall in the usual way, then contact Veggies to join the 'vegan village' space, in and around Veggies marquee near the Bandstand.
We hope that by adding the thousands that attend the many Vegan Festivals around the UK to the thousands that attend the Green Festival, we will make an event truly not to be missed.

Whenever possible Veggies feature the publications of the Movement for Compassionate Living, which we print and distribute to promote simple living and vegan self-reliance as a remedy to the exploitation of humans, animals and the Earth.
We also support our nominated charity, Vegfam, ‘Feeding the hungry without exploiting animals’. If you can help us with either of these projects at this event, whilst we are busy with Veggies catering, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
