ExLibris Booksale Part Two

Fri 3rd May, 2019 @ 10:00 - Mon 6th May, 2019 @ 18:00

ExLibris booksale 2019

The 13th annual booksale in aid of three local charities continues over its second weekend

https://www.nottinghamhospitalscharity.org.uk/appeals/zephyrs-nottingham-appeal/ Zephyr’s centre offers loving care and support to families who have experienced the loss of a pregnancy or the death of a baby or child.

http://mortonhallvisitors.org.uk/ They support people detained at Morton Hall Immigration Removal Centre by providing a link to the outside world.

https://sharewearclothingscheme.org/ Sharewear provides emergency clothing, shoes and bedding to people in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire currently in crisis.

Our rescued books include: new, genre, unusual, modern and classic fiction; every non-fiction subject under the sun; books on leisure interests such as gardening, crafts, cake decoration & cookery; hardbacks and paperbacks; scarce/collectable books at lower prices than online; lots of children’s books; and the odd really weird book that you wouldn’t believe could, or maybe should, exist. There are also DVDs and handmade bags.
We always have low prices (starting at 10p), to make books accessible to everyone. Even our collectable or scarce books are priced more cheaply than online.

Stephen Booth, author and creator of the Cooper & Fry books, will open the booksale at 10am on April 26th. Be there! Be masked (if you like)!

Refreshments, including home-made cakes, in our café, “Josiah’s”.
Children may ride the “ExLibris Express”.
Claim a free raffle ticket if you arrive wearing a mask.
You are invited to bring a tin of vegetarian food, to be donated to Netherfield food bank.

We will be asking for volunteers to: bake; donate raffle prizes; help carry heavy boxes of books; circulate the poster on social media; distribute leaflets through letterboxes and posters to shops/pubs/community centres etc; mind the back garden and be Toilet Monitors, etc. We’re getting older, and appreciate help more and more each year!

Thanks everybody for all your support the previous 12 years. We hope we can rescue another load of books and support important local charities again this year.

Masky greetings.
