Wild Peak Fundraiser

Sat 14th July, 2018 @ 12:00

Wild Peak are having a Fundraiser on Saturday July 8th.

Any money from donations for food, refreshments or camping will be going to support the work of two projects:

Watch The Med: funds for sustaining an emergency phone network (and equipment needed) that helps to co-ordinate the rescue of refugees from the Med

– The Abortion Support Network (supporting Irish women who are having to come to the U.K for abortions)

We are hoping people will arrive anytime from 12.00 pm on Saturday 14th July

Things will carry on through to the evening (with the option to camp over for people who want to stay the night…)

What’s the plan?
 Relaxing in the field, enjoying the mid Summer vibe!  Ad-hoc games and entertainments during the day ( ideas and offers welcome-it’s going to be a bit D.I.Y!)

Veggies Catering Campaign from Nottingham will be providing veggie burgers, snacks & other #FoodByVeggies in the afternoon.
Refreshments will be available to buy all day, and an early evening meal available later (all for donations…) All the food will be Vegan. Please support the fundraiser by getting your refreshments in the field-ta!

Anyone who fancies camping over is very welcome-we will be asking for a small donation (£3.00 a pitch)…

What to bring?
– money to spend on food and refreshments, a tent if staying over, (plus warm bedding, a torch, wellies if staying late as the grass is long and gets dewy, waterproofs-not that it will rain and we will also have structures up so rain would not stop play, and your own breakfast supplies), ideas for fun in a field and stuff to make it happen!

Entertainments, music, info stalls;
– if you feel like you might be up for playing some music, helping with any other entertainments, if you have information about any projects that you’d like to share and get more people involved with, or if you have an idea for a stall/activity for the day to help raise money, then drop us an email and let us know…
We are hoping that evening music and camp fire vibes can continue after dinner, but all amplified music will be going off at 11.30 so people and kids can sleep!

Getting here, transport and parking;
We are trying to minimise traffic and Wyver Lane is potholed and narrow with limited passing spaces, so if possible come by bike, foot or car share, if you can…

N.B. if you are coming by car PLEASE DO NOT PARK ON WYVER LANE as there is very limited parking space for the cottages on Wyver Lane and it therefore needs to be for residents only-please help us to keep it sweet with our neighbours!
 If you need to bring a car then please bring it all the way down the lane to Lawn Cottage, where there will be a space you can park it on the field-cheers!

Dogs:

The housing co-op is adjacent to a wildlife area and we are surrounded by ground nesting birds that don’t mix well with dogs. If you can’t come without your dog then it must be kept on a lead at all times whilst on site.

For more info, to offer entertainments or other help, or to let us know you are coming (would help us in guessing numbers for food);

How to find us:
 We’re at; Lawn Cottage, Wyver Lane, Belper. DE56 2EF. Once on Wyver Lane, keep going till you get to the very end of the track. You will see a sign directing you to where to park. Don’t give up half way, we are almost 2 miles down the lane, and drive slow if in a vehicle-there’s pot holes a plenty…

See you in the field!
