The Launch Event was held at The Foyer, Lower Holyhead Road, Coventry CV1 3AX (opposite Tin Angel Pub) with free vegan food samples and advice & support from Coventry Vegetarians and Vegans. Green Garden Café is a soon to be, not for profit, social enterprise that offers both pure vegetarian, diary free catering for any event.Incorporated under the banner of the Green Garden Café will be the chance for organisations and individuals to buy in environmental and social youth work programmes tailored to meet the needs of the young people concerned. We currently have an inner city allotment ready for work to start involving young people. The Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress opened the day with the aid of two young people from the Foyer (Nikki, Nikki and Amy). Both of these young people helped enormously with both the planning and delivery of the launch, for which we say a BIG thank you. Various organisations were invited as well as the Vegan Society who was at hand to give nutritional and dietary advice for anyone who was interested. There was a good turnout of people and a lot of positive feedback including: ‘The food is great. It’s so nice to know that I can eat everything on offer without having to ask what’s in it. The Green Garden Café representatives are very nice people who are very open and approachable.’ Laura Kubasiewicz ‘Fantastic food’ Lady Mayoress Another bonus from the day was that the Green Garden Café is know based at the Coventry Foyer and we have free use of the kitchens in return for Cathy providing voluntary youth work with the young people based at the centre. We would like to thank everyone who has supported us so far and gave up their time to help us on the launch-BIG thanks.
