A delightful dish is cooked and served at the Sumac Cafe by a different volunteer team each Saturday. Dinner is served from 7pm, until it is all gone, for a suggested donation of £3.50.
On the Menu on 20th April: Pasta with wild garlic pesto and salad, apple crumble.
People's Kitchen is completely run by volunteers. Please get involved - email us with your name, email address & phone number to join the volunteer list.
People's Kitchen often compliments fundraising events at the Sumac Centre, with extra funds raised to benefit the benefit. If you would like to hold a fundraising event, including a People's Kitchen meal, please email sumaccafe[at]riseup.net.
During the summer break a collective of 13 Sumacers took the kitchen to Calais and cooked twice a day for 200 people without papers, as part of Calais Migrant Solidarity. It was totally exhausting and also amazing. It wouldn't have been possible without money raised from People's Kitchen.
Please get involved - email us with your name, email address and phone number to be added to the volunteer list.
Roll up, roll up to volunteer for future Saturdays.
