The Sparrows' Nest was established by the Anarchist Federation’s Nottingham group with the involvement of other class struggle anarchists. It is a ‘Centre for Anarchist Culture and Education’, set up to inform people about the ideology and history of Anarchism in its many forms, and about working class struggles in our region. Kirkby Pet Welfare is a small animal shelter attempting to tackle the desperate task of rescuing and re-homing unwanted rabbits, hamsters and other small rodents, often bred indiscriminately by the pet trade. Nottingham Animal Rights seeks volunteers for regular workdays. It is really rewarding work, because we can all do a little to make a big difference. Punk for the homeless

A delightful dish is cooked and served at the Sumac Cafe by a different volunteer team each Saturday. Food is served at 7pm until all gone. The Forest Fields Social Club Bar follows from 7.30. On the last Saturday of each month People's Kitchen is part of a fundraising evening for Punk for the Homeless, to raise awareness and money for Casa Alianza, a homeless charity for street children in Latin America.
