Ethical Trading Summary

Many consider us to be one of the most ethical caterers on the circuit, with policies developed with 25 years of experience in organic / fair trade / pure vegetarian catering. The popularity of our methods of operation is indicated by our having been voted 'Best Vegan Caterers' in three successive years. We have been shortlisted in the green trading standards scheme at previous Glastonbury Festivals.

Fair traded fruit juices and fresh vegetables are used, along with wholemeal bread (often locally baked from organic flour stoneground at Nottingham's Greens Windmill). In 25 years we have never used any other than fair trade teas and coffees. All our products are made from natural ingredients, with no artificially added preservatives, flavourings or colourings. Our ethical trading survey indicates our minimal packaging policies to be particularly well supported by our customers. We generally use no disposable plates, mugs or cutlery, and take back for recycling all bought-in product packaging, including bottles, cans and tetra paks.

Through our direct involvement with front line environmental campaigns we are developing a policy to reduce our carbon debt by minimising travel, in favour of passing on bookings to other campaigning caterers where appropriate.
