Bar Report:
- Steve
to ask the cafe crew if the Sunday café volunteer will be able to stay during cleaning on Sunday evening and lock up afterwards at 7pm. To complete by 7pm suggest cleaning the loos from at 5.30pm, followed by hoovering and mopping main room floor. Everyone to take responsibility for any other cleaning needed during the week.

- Anti-Thatcher night
: Friday 5th March. Vetoed proposal of hanging a "guy" of Thatcher in yard. Need ideas for what to do in bar on this night.
- Reminder : Bar licence date is March 8th.
- Urinals :
the automatic flush is wasting water and money when we are closed. Urinals to be turned off by the Cafe Sunday evenings and bar to turn them back on Thursday. Loukas to tell the café how to do this. Users to flush them manually while the centre is closed to the public.
- Friday Fortnightly Ska Nights. Bar will negotiate with Ange about clash with the prisoner support night.
Cafe report:
- Keys : Stu to get key cut for Ben. N.B. Cafe needs to get a log of key holders at their next meeting.
- Cafe is open again on Fridays
. This weeks exciting special is (vegan) Spanish Omelette.
Computer Report:
- (b/f) Mike, Andy, David to check network & draw up specifications.
- 2 car loads of computer parts are at Neds. Some may be useful in upgrading and mending the Sumac computers, but help is needed to sort through. Steve will look through and any other computer whizz and is invited to sort through and install any good stuff - you will be loved forever!
Garden report:
- Whole in the Wall: Will, next door, urges us to sort it out! Kath and Mike will help a.s.a.p. Tim will put a note through Ralph's door for further guidance. (Funds available via Gardening Club).
- Shed
: Thanks to Karl & Moira for donating flat packed shed. Are you up for helping put it back up?!
- Glass from sumac car window: Weitse / Andy to sweep this up.

to ask Berni if cafe has had money from the co-op and to tell Chloe.
- Dog mess in yard
: Still bad. All need to take responsibility for stopping people in the Sumac letting their dogs roam. Dogs must be under constant supervision. Malachi will look into getting a longer hose and increase vigilance.
Library Report:
Life Blood (a self-published book by a local poet) is available at Sumac for £8.00
Radical Routes feedback:
- The Radical Routes Gathering will be at Sumac on April 16th to 18th so the cafe will be closed.
- Sumac to take on the work commitment of becoming the registered office for Radical Routes. This will involve forwarding mail and getting rid of junk mail. Nick will set up a Radical Routes in-tray and deal with it. Agreed to ask Radical Routes for money for cost of forwarding mail. Andy will tell Radical Routes we have agreed.
- Nick from Fuse
(workers building co-operative) requests their registered office to be at Sumac. Andy to tell him it can and to ask for £25 yearly sub for mail box.
- NB. Can all groups who have mail boxes who can afford to pay this annual sub please do so cos Sumac is skint! Steve will set up a Subs category on accounts to see who has paid.
- Upstart bid
for Radical Routes: Discussion over the controversial subject of Upstart having put in a bid for Radical Routes which also gets Upstart money. Sumac agreed that the bid should go forward and not be withdrawn as R.R's needs the money. Andy will submit a proposal from Sumac that if a co-op is putting in a bid for Radical Routes that also benefits themselves financially then they should consult fully with Radical Routes.
Residents Feedback:
- Becky will cut spare flat keys for Sumac to look after and get combo lock for gate for £30-ish.
- Residents are making a maintenance list for things that need doing to their flat. There will be work days to do these jobs- help is needed!
- Washing machine
: residents still looking for one. Sumac agreed to pay up to £250.
- Becky and Tim
to talk to Weitse about free insulation for the roof. Loft will need clearing.
- Bills: Residents need to pay bills promptly - Becky to talk to others.
Resource Centre:

Veggies invite help with the catering for the 'Aldermaston 2004' march over Easter (April 9th-12th).
Veggies will supply Toilet Cleaner fluid. Eleanor is authorised to buy new bog brushes!

Finance meeting report
Sumac is in financial difficulties - there are loans coming up for repayment in the next year. We need to maximise income and minimise expenditure. Bar is in big financial trouble. Neds has agreed to lend money to Sumac. Next financial meeting will be on 15th April.

: Pat to ask Dave if the sorter can be chucked. Andrew to tell BTCV 'yes please we would like their small photocopier'.

Jasmine went to Mumbai, India. It was wicked. She made a video to be shown at Sumac on 30th March. Philip was there and sends tantric german love to all. The next WSF gathering is in London in November. Jasmine will represent Sumac and take any proposals.
We need to change our rules so that the accounts will not need to be audited, saving Sumac money. All members of Sumac are therefore needed to attend an Extraordinary General Meeting on March 11th at 7.30 pm. Steve will notify people about the meeting. There will be a copy of the old rules and ammendments in the office.
Credit Union would like to engage the bar in discussion about a possible mutual support for Thursday collection point. (Credit Union) Steve will talk to people about this at Tuesday bar meeting.
