Animal Rescue Workday (Kirkby)
Kirkby Pet Welfare is a small animal shelter attempting to tackle the desperate task of rescuing and re-homing unwanted rabbits, hamsters and other small rodents, often bred indiscriminately by the pet trade. Nottingham Animal Rights seeks volunteers for regular workdays. It is really rewarding work, because we can all do a little to make a big difference. F.R.I.E.N.D. Farmed Animal Rescue in Kent provide a permanent life-long home for abused, unwanted and orphaned farmed animals. About 150 animals, including pigs, cows, goats, geese, sheep, chickens, turkeys, dogs, cats, ferrets and a horse enjoy as natural a life as possible in the heart of the Kent countryside.
