World Day for Animals in Laboratories 2020

Join World Day for Laboratory Animals 2020 in Liverpool, with details to be confirmed.

Each year inside British laboratories, around 4 million animals are experimented on. Every 8 seconds, one animal dies. Included are experiments on more than 600,000 animals. With over half of all animal experiments now taking place in universities it is crucial we speak out to end animal suffering and progress beyond wasteful, costly and cruel research.

Guest speakers throughout the day will be raising awareness about poor and cruel science behind animal experimentation and curiosity-driven research. There will vegan food and campaign stands, a media presence, exciting and creative stunts.

World Day for Laboratory Animals was instituted in 1979 and has been a catalyst for the movement to end the suffering of animals in laboratories around the world and their replacement with advanced scientific non-animal techniques. The suffering of millions of animals all over the world is commemorated on every continent.

British Heartless Foundation

The British Heart Foundation are huge funders of sick animal experiments. A quick look on PubMed, a publicly accessible archive of research papers, reveals over 1,500 papers documenting cruel research funded by BHF involving animals on this website alone. Despite their claims of transparency and openness, BHF do not make public a list of which animals and how many are killed in the course of the research they fund. What have they got to hide?

We aim to stop them by exposing the truth behind this unacceptable public betrayal. If you can take part in our ‘Valentines’ day action we’ll send you a special info pack.

The pack will have everything you need to put on an effective and visual event; posters, a big heart, little hearts, stickers, tattoo’s and fliers.

Drop us a message on facebook or via the website and get ready for action!
