Vegfam Trustee Friedenstern Howard had been ill during this year.
Late on Saturday evening, 8th April 2006, Frieden died at his home "The Sanctuary" (Vegfam H/Q).
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends (including Vegfam Council) and by Vegfam supporters and donors.
The funeral service took place on Friday 21st April, at Exeter and Devon Crematorium, followed by a gathering at Exeter Friends Meeting House. A memorial service was held in September. A suitable Vegfam project will be funded, in memory of Frieden.

It is with great sadness that we report that Arthur Ling, who founded the Vegan Inspired Propietors (V.I.P.) network, later to be renamed the Vegan Business Connection, passed away on the 18th January 2005. His dedication to the vegan cause was renowned. He will be sadly missed by all those that knew him.
