Sumac Meeting minutes Monday 4th August
Big Ups- Bins are going out and the cleaning is getting done.
Qualm- It’s the same half dozen people doing it. State of yard, sicky
smell in toilet, bathroom stall in men’s has been closed for several
months (finally someone notices, curly has been carrying out sociological
experiment as to when it would be raised as an issue)

Hooley to ask Sarah G and Laura for brief on how to put on gathering
Tasha to speak to Phil about getting rid of plant climbing up the wall
Collectives Reports
Veggies- Nothing relevant.
Sumac Cafe- Paid rent up to end of august
Garden- Plots still available
Bar- Nothing to report.
Food Bank- No report in.
Finance- Healthy account, more people to get involved, company returns in
tax is £400m, concern about lack of money earmarked for roof.
SYC- Funded group now, paid role for Dom via RHSG as a workers co-op, can
pay rent in September, it was suggested that the rent be £5 a session
(same as they are paying at the community centre). Dom to get back in
September once finances have been examined to see if this is possible.
Mediation between SYC/Dom and several others including bar and PK users
and volunteers and Veggies.
Mediation to be organised: residents, veggies, bar collective and SYC to
be invited to give list of up to five volunteers they would be happy with
facilitating this mediation. Those lists to be shared with other groups
and asked whether they are accepatable.
Aim to come up with faciliators by end of August. Come up with date for
mediation at the next meeting.
Hooley and Tasha to begin this process.
Bookings- Possible double booking on thursday between veggies meeting and
clothes swap.

Chairs- Curly and Rosie to do it. Budget of 500 quid if they need more
they will ask Finance group.
Sunday Film Nights
To begin in September. Advertised as Film night, films to be chosen on the
night.

Matt given extra 100 to get it done, Tasha to communicate this to matt.
Radical Routes
Proposals 1 and 2
We support proposal, but don’t feel it deals with existing barriers to
joining for those who don’t know the shibboleth. Dom to write a better
version of this but and circulate it on list by end of week.
Proposal 3,4 and 5- Nothing to say on these.
