Something Fishy, probably the first and finist mobile vegan fish ‘n’ chip stall in the world – purveyors of fine soya-fish and seaweed since 2008!
Stop press – March 2016
After being run by Manchester campaigners, raising funds for animal rescue projects, the Something Fishy trailer has returned to Veggies in Nottingham.
There is an opportunity for a motivated team to refurbish the trailer and get it back on the road, ideally to continue to raise awareness of the plight of fish & the world’s oceans, and to raise vital finds for marine conservation projects and animal rescue.
The story of Something Fishy
At the North West Vegan Festival in January 2008 activists from Manchester Animal Protection ran a popular vegan fish’n’chip stall, alongside Veggies Catering Campaign.
So successful was this that on 17th May 2008 a mobile operation was launched, with an exclusive preview at the Sumac Centre, from a catering trailer adopting and refitted from Veggies Catering Campaign.
As part of an ongoing project to support and encourage other vegan campaign caterers, Veggies worked with Something Fishy at Nottingham Green Festival, in advance of their official launch at the 2008 Bristol Vegan Fayre.

Save the Dolphin? Let’s hear it for Tuna-friendly Tuna too!
In advance of the public launch at the 2008 Bristol Vegan Fayre an Exclusive Phish ‘n’ Chip Supper was held at the Sumac Centre.
To celebrate this successful launch, on Sunday 18th May Team Phish held a scrumptious vegan roast dinner with all the trimmings: Roast spuds and parsnips, fake chicken pieces, roast onion, sweetcorn, peas n’ steamed carrots and delicious gravy.
