Channel 4’s hit show Come Dine with Me is coming to NOTTINGHAM with a new twist, looking for COUPLES to take part in the series!

Emma asks for our help finding a vegan couple to show how great vegan dining can be.

Do you know any great cooks, good hosts & vegan advocates?

In 2006 Nikki O’Leary from Scouse Veg was on “Come Dine With Me,” trying to convert four meat eaters vegan. She did a great job persuading people to go vegan, creating a sudden influx of new vegans.

Watch Again via scouseveg-teevee, with a meat-eating contestant admitting that “The arguments around veganism are compelling … Going vegetarian or vegan? I certainly don’t discount it”.

Check out the recipes, including Baked Avocado On A Bed Of Aparagus With Vegan Bacon In A Cream Sauce, that Niki used for her vegan menu on Come Dine With Me.

In December 2008 Viva! co-founder Tony Wardle attempted “to convert his carnivore guests to the joys of tofu and show them that vegan food can be just as tasty as meat…”

In December 2010 Vegan-activist Donna Thomas hoped to impress her guests with her Japanese-themed vegan meal. Watch again online at Channel4.

On Fri 10 January 2014 the show featured Jhon Cosgrove, comical guitarist of the Petersfield based UK pop-punk band Mike TV. Jhon made vegans proud, sharing a table with three meat eaters, making a splendid vegan meal that even slightly older male citizen Anson couldn’t argue with (and they in turn had to make a vegan meal for Jhon).

More people in the UK are Googling info about veganism and vegan recipes than ever before, and with Nobel prize winner Alvin Roth predicting that veganism will become the norm, not the exception, the time couldn’t be better to give vegan cooking another push.

The Guardian says “Relax, it’s no longer weird to be a vegan”, noting that Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi held a vegan wedding, but unfortunately they don’t (yet) live in Nottingham.
