Bee Banquet
Tue 20th October, 2015 @ 13:15
Nottingham Friends of the Earth is backing the national Bee Cause campaign. The main aim is to get the government to adopt a Bee Action Plan – to include policies on agriculture, conservation and planning.
Nottingham Friends of the Earth is helping bees by organising a Bee Summit, from 10am – 2pm on Tuesday 20th October at The Pavilion on Forest Rec. Teas, coffee & biscuits by Veggies from 9.30am.
Veggies will provide a lunch for 30 people, at about 1.30pm, using ingredients pollinated by bees, for example carrot & coriander soup with black-eye beans, and coffee & walnut cake or Apple Pie with Almond Cream (with flour locally sourced from Greens Windmill, just 2 miles away!)
There are many more native bees than honey bees. Inviting an array of bees into your own backyard is simple when you plant their favorite flowers. You can help them by making bee-friendly habitats in your garden.
