Gladstonebury Festival

Wed 23rd June, 2021 - Sun 27th June, 2021

Cartoon of Veggies and Glastonbury Tor

On 21st June, when Covid restrictions might have been lifted, Veggies Catering Campaign should have been setting up at Glastonbury Festival.

Glastonbury Festival Green Futures – postponed

On Wednesday 23rd June, instead of opening at Glastonbury, Veggies had tentative plans for a five-day community mini-festival  in the Sumac Centre Garden.

It now seems likely that restrictions will continue, so plans will be scaled down to fit current Sumac Centre protocols.

There are plenty of tables in the lush gardens, many shaded by gazebos, allowing space for 30-50 people with appropriate groupings of households.

Anyone interested in putting on any kind of event or setting up a pop-up stall for their vegan business during this festival is invited to contact us.

The plans so far may include:

Wednesday 23rd: Launch of Veggies crowd funded solar trailer installation

6pm – 8pm: Drop in for Nottingham Green Festival supporters, potential stewards and volunteers. Find out more about this event which will take place on Sunday 12th September – though the scale of the event is unknown.

7pm – 9pm: Hands On Drum classes with Moussa and Chris Sylla every Wednesday.  …more details….

Thursday  24th

7pm: Poetry Scum, the launch of a new venue for Nottinghams working class, community event, celebrating working/under class & activist art!

Friday 25th

Open Mic Night – Details to be announced.

Saturday 26th

2pm – 10pm: The Forest Fields Social Club (FFSC) is a space where people can socialise, organise and meet with like-minded people. Like the Sumac Centre, the bar is run entirely by volunteers – you are encouraged to participate to help run it and make it a better space. When we achieve a society without bosses there will be no servants!

Saturday  7pm – 10pm: Punk for the Homeless (P4TH). This will be their first “live” “Girls Are Loud” event since 2019. Outdoors & socially distanced, this ticketed event features The Cars That Ate Paris, Llinos Belcher, Alice Lynn and Miranda Betts. At time of writing there are just 7 tickets left. £7 tickets  include 2 course vegan meal. Get your tickets now or MISS OUT! All proceeds to Hope Orphanage Sierra Leone.

Sunday 27th

11am – 2pm: Sumac Sunday Brunch – just like at Glastonbury Veggies will be serving their festival brunch from Veggies Trailer, partly powered by the sun!

Sunday 2pm – 10pm: The Forest Fields Social Club will keep us refreshed until Gladstonebury ends at 10pm. Sorry (but not sorry) we don’t do fireworks.
