When people and institutions get foolishly enthusiastic and invest their money into what turns out to be a losing gamble this is called a “bubble”. When the bubble pops they lose their money. The trouble is that along the road a lot of other people can get hurt – not just the money people.
Fracking companies like INEOS and IGas borrow money from suckers to invest in their sub prime energy speculation in the UK – and claim they will regenerate the whole of the economy.
Along the way, before the illusion evaporates they can still do a lot of damage – water pollution, noise, atmospheric pollution, damaged farm land. ruined beauty spots….
Don’t let it happen – don’t let your bank invest in this bubble. Bubbles burst because people lose confidence and stop believing the hype.
