Peaceful Origami Drive against Animal Experimentation at UCL!

University College London (UCL) is the third largest user of animals in the entire country!

Animals used in experiments at the university include mice, rats, frogs, fish, primates (yes .. primates!), hamsters, rabbits, ferrets and guinea pigs.

At noon on Friday 2 December, Animal Justice Project and UCLU PAWSkick off an innovative ORIGAMI DRIVE at UCL’s Main Quad, asking students to #HaveaHeartforAnimals.

Please join us, and hold hearts for the animals who died at the university. We will also be inviting students to create origami hearts for each animal who has died in the university’s own laboratories last year. Each animal matters – from mice and rats, to rhesus monkeys.

In one experiment uncovered, rhesus macaques were hooked up to electrodes and machines, and forced to perform tasks so that researchers could take neuron readings.

The UK Government reports that around half of all experiments take place in universities. We demand a more just UCL – a UCL that promotes compassion, not violence!

IMPORTANT: Wear black. Animal Justice Project will supply hearts and outreach materials. No megaphones please – this will be a silent event in respect for the animals used in experiments inside UCL.
