Veggies is volunteer-led, a community-based, social enterprise. We have been promoting vegan catering and supporting campaigns for animal rights, environmental protection and social justice since 1984. Partly due to our work vegetarianism is now mainstream, and veganism widely understood.
Veggies Catering Campaign provides food at almost any event - from campaign rallies to community festivals, from family celebrations to green gatherings. We offer tasty, wholesome snacks, as well as information
exploring the links between diet, animal suffering and the environment. See our tour dates here.
Pure fruit juices and fresh vegetables are used along with wholemeal bread. All products are made from natural ingredients, with no artificially added preservatives, flavourings or colourings. We aim to provide a balance between organically grown and/or locally produced ingredients. See example menus here.
A directory of other caterers, who might be able to help at events that we are unable to attend, is compiled by Veggies, as part of the Vegan Business Connection, to support groups working to promote a healthy and compassionate lifestyle in other areas.
Veggies is a workers' co-operative, though workers take minimum wages, preferring to live simply so that others might simply live. We receive welcome support from a team of dedicated volunteers. To join us Click Here
Veggies Burgers are a direct food - produced directly from the organically grown crop,
soya beans, wheat and oats. As they contain no meat, no cholesterol and no animal fats,
they are ideal for current dietary recommendations.
Veggies Sosages share all the dietary advantages of Veggies Burgers and you are assured the that no animals have lived or died in factory farms to produce them.
Freezer Service: Our products are available from independent wholefood stores throughout the Midlands, or directly from Veggies at the Sumac Centre.
VegCom is a free noticeboard for vegans and vegetarians offering or seeking accommodation in Nottingham and the Midlands. We are members of the recycling network nottingham_freecycle and support community composting.
It is difficult to find a perfect bank - we use the Co-operative Bank, who at least have some ethical policies that we can endorse. Reserve funds are invested with Rootstock and the Sumac Centre to support grassroots co-operatives working for social change.
